Cheshire Lines Committee Railway Letter Box

This box was acquired in the 60s by a railwayman for about 10/- and kept
in his garden until he died.

 

During a subsequent move, all 800kg of it fell over and the top was broken in 4 as can be seen.

The main body of the box is badly cracked front and rear and thieves have stolen the cast LNER and
LMS plates.

 

I will attempt a restoration but I doubt it will be more than cosmetic at the moment as the hinges are really badly worn but it will at least look good to the eye.

 

I will post some more detailed stuff when I progress further with the box but until then it will be available for
viewing in its' present state.
